Cleaned up everywhere. Ate brunch. Getting on the road in an hour or so after worship and prayer.
Getting ready to pack up and leave today to drive to Phoenix first.
Last day with the kids. Sad to see them go so soon.
Ready for day 4… Last day, pray for sharing of gospel story. Jianying is recovered after lots of rest.
Worshipping tonight with some Navajo guests. They came to hang out with us last year too.
Appreciation dinner in our honor. Navajo tacos on frybread. Mmm. Team worked hard today. Really connected with the children.
Here’s another call update from Andy. But before I start to type away, I wanted to quote Andy – “There are always spiritual battles on missions. Please continue to pray for us to rely on God.”
—Continue to praise God for His provisions and protection:
1. Parents of AZ veterans might know how in years past, the team stayed at Good News Church but hosted VBS camp at a different site. This year, the team is able to host VBS right at the church, with real bathrooms, running water, electricity, a basketball court, a kitchen as well as other facilities and supplies. This arrangement has spared much traveling (time and gas) between the church and the VBS camp site that was needed in years past. The church is also well fitted for the number of kids that God brought to VBS this year -sixty of them this morning!
2. The team realized this morning (day 3 of VBS camp) that some food was missing (whip cream, canned soup, oranges, etc.). It looked like someone (most likely kids) came thru the window and helped themselves to food. One of the team members’ back-pack and water bottle also went missing. But praise God that nothing critical was left in the back-pack and that no damage was done at the church and no one was hurt.
—Continue to pray for the team:
1. Uncle Jian Ying has a fever today and needed to rest. Please pray for God to heal him quickly.
2. Team’s health and energy as they prepare for the last day of VBS tomorrow.
3. God’s continual protection: material and spiritual.
4. Uncle Kiu is experiencing some shortness of breath (Late entry – according to Auntie Doris after prayer meeting). Please pray for God to help him adapt to the thinner air at the higher elevation.
—Pray for Jason:
A Navajo young adult (~30 years old) has been hanging out with the team and sharing with them his life story. Jason seems to appreciate the team a lot and has been encouraged by the love and support that the team has shown to him. Apparently Jason has a Christian background, but has not been walking in the Truth. Please pray for God to touch him and turn him around.
